Prime Minister Visit: Wednesday 19 April 2017

Today was PM visit to 1180 MW Bhikki Power Plant. We reached the venue early in the morning. The visit was resheduled a day earlier therefore preparation had to be speed up. A total of around 700 deployment was carried out.

Early in the morning i left for Nankana Sahib to receive Sikh Yatris. I reached there and went to the main Gurdwara with DSP City Nankana Mr. Umer. The Sikh Yatris were seated in around 24 buses and the convoy left for Sacha Sauda Sheikhupura. Police arrangements were on high alert given the security situation. The buses were in shabby condition which the rising temperature during the day proved to be testing for the visitors as majority of them were old men and women. A discussion with the Yatris revealed that youth want to visit Pakistan, but Government of India usually does not approve the visa of Youth. Also, while visiting other countries like USA, those who have visited Pakistan are questioned and sometimes denied visas. However, one thing is for sure that Sikh Yatris were very satisfied with the security arrangement and lot of them expressed their gratitude to the Police men on duty for ensuring their security. Today's Important Points 1. Visited Sacha Sauda Gurdwara in connection with Sikh Yatris visit. The sprawling Gurdwara is located in Farooqabad Shiekhupura. Around 200 Sikh Yatris from India and around the world are going to visit this Gurdwara in connection with Besakhi Festival on April 17th, 2017. The Police has detailed a comprehensive security plan for the premises and for the visitors keeping in view the precarious security situation in the country. TMA, Civil defence and other government department are almost non-existant and piles of garbages have been piled up in an open area just in front of the main gate of the gurduwara. It is no very pleasant kind of view particulary for guest coming from abroad. 2. Visit to Police Station Khanqah Dogran The Police station was established in 1922 and is one of the oldest in the district.
