Millitary.inc

Nowadays there is a hot debate regarding budget allocation to various institutions in Pakistan. While it is alleged that 90% of the budget is allocated to Army, which of course is factually not correct, Army friends complain of the meager resources that have at unit level. So what is the actual position is question on the mind of every ordinary citizen like me. This was partial answer to my question and i hope you too will enjoy this book published by Oxford University Press. It is named as " Military.inc-Inside Pakistan's Military Economy" by Ayesha Siddiqa who has been a CSP officer at the start of his career belonging to the Audit and Accounts Groups. She has a first hand experience of working in the Controller of Military Accounts which gives her an edge as most of the time, details regarding resources allocation to Defense establishment is hard to find.

Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus

The much awaited Metro Bus Service is now functional in Islamabad connecting it to the twin city of Rawalpindi. The PKR 45 billion cost (USD 4440 million) of the project was criticized mainly by the opposition parties led by Tehreek Insaaf. However the record time for completion of the project is something which justifies the the financial outlay. In Pakistan Public Sector infrastructure projects are plagued by delays and some are altogether abandoned after partial work. The 23 KM long metro has 24 station. Today I had a glimpse of Pakistan Secretariat Station of it. There is quite excitement among the travelers and many are travelling just to have fun. Few pics here. Although secretariat is closed today being Saturday, still large number of public was seen buying tickets and Metro-Bus Card.  To avoid queuing up the line to buy ticket, a better option is to get a Metro-Bus Card. The card can be reloaded and costs 130 Rs for the first time and subsequently recharg

Telenor easypaisa Gimmicks

Of late this mobile banking service has become a source of nuisance. Instead of providing quality service to its customers, It is trying to dupe them in one way or the other to mint money from them on as bizarre scheme as MOBILE INSURANCE through which they purport to pay 1000 PKR as medical bill in case of medical emergency. The customers are nowadays continuously getting spam calls from Easy Paisa for so called Medical Insurance. I have time and again their representatives categorically that I am not doing it as I have already had it for one year. I was duped by one of their of your representative to go for it saying that it is totally free but later on i found they have deducted around 1000 PKR from my account. I am seriously thinking of changing Easypaisa as my mobile account and as well as Telenor as my network. God forbid, if anything happens, they are not going to pay a single penny on one pretext or the other, while they call this a medical insurance, there is no proof of it

My CSS Experience

I had wanted to appear in CSS since the time I graduated. However because of admission in University for my Master degree in Economics and later on being busy with doing a 9-5 job i had no chance to sit in this rigorous test of knowledge, skills and patience for so long. I applied for it in 2013 and was all set to come to Peshawar from my home town of Chitral when on the very morning when i was travelling, the Lawari road was closed because of heavy snowfall. This hinderance has dashed the hopes of hundreds of aspirants like me who have missed their tests, interviews and jobs because of this unavoidable blockade of the district during winters. For me  I put it to my fate, this being the second time as earlier i had missed a lectureship interview in Mardan's Abdul Wali Khan university.  Fate aside, for those who are not familiar with CSS i would like to add a few line. CSS stands for Competitive examinations of federal government of Pakistan. This is equivalent to IAS of Ind
